Hello everybody and welcome to my little home building blog. In this blog I will talk all about the trials and tribulations of building my first home. I am a 26 year old web designer / draftsman that decided to build, instead of buy my first home. Most of my friends are on their own and I am still one of those 20 somethings that lives with mom and dad.

Use this website to get an actual home owners take on how it is building a new home. I have a great deal of construction knowledge and I will be talking about the various components used and what they do. I will also explain the importance of putting your money into the “bricks & sticks” of a home rather than the fancy floors and exterior enhancements.

After our very scary experience of nearly purchasing a sinkhole nightmare in a local subdivision in New Port Richey, Florida, we decided it would be best to build instead of buy our first home. We wanted to take advantage of the declining new home construction market.

Finally with a little help from my lovely girlfriend Chelsea’s parents we are able to initiate the construction process on one of the two building lots her and I purchased about a year ago. Now the blogging begins! Stay Tuned! ha ha
