Pouring a residential concrete slab. Off to a wet start!

Posted on the June 30th, 2009 under First Stages by admin

Well our slab is poured and the workers are working hard to get the rain off of the slab. Rain is in the forecast all day and it is making the concrete very difficult to work with. For the most part the slab is looking great. The only concern is that with too much rainfall, it will wash off the top coat of concrete leaving the actual rocks from the concrete visible. If we get any more rain, we will need to bring in portland and add it to the slab to re-create a top coat layer. It is essential for the finish of the slab. It is an easy but tedious fix.
