Here is our property.
Hello friends. I would like to start off by showing the property that I purchased to place the new home on. This is where we will build our new home. It was purchased in April of 2008. Photos were taken in January 2009. When we originally took these photos of the property we were under the impression that we would be getting our permit for construction any day. Little did we know, it would be nearly 6 months until we actually got the permit.
We were told by the Hillsborough county building department that our property was non-buildable due to its ridiculous zoning code (ASC-1) this code determined that we needed a minimum lot size of one acre and our building set backs would have to be 150 foot from each street side. Our lot was only 100 foot by 100 foot.
With this new found information, we now needed to prove 2 things; one, that the lot was non-conforming, and two, that we could legitimately build a single family residence without creating an issue with the county. The only way to do this was via a variance. Fun times…
